Almighty God, as birds sing at first light, so let my thoughts at day’s beginning be praise to you. Thank you for the gift of this new day.
You looked upon your creation and proclaimed it good, Sovereign God. You have created humankind for joy, even fashioned us in your own image. Help us to see your world as you see it, that the evil, sorrow, and brokenness around us might never overshadow the good you intend in all things.
Indeed, help us see ourselves as you see us. Give us such trust in your loving power, that we will become instruments of your goodness. And may you then rejoice in your creation as we rejoice in you. Lord, let me rejoice with every breath. In the matchless name of Jesus.
