Evening Prayer: January 26th

Sovereign God, I am humbled that you have met me in this day. Not only have you met me, you have led me where I have needed to go and you have carried me where I didn’t think I had strength. Now as this day draws to a close, I ask that you would forgive me for the ways in which I have sinned and that you would guide me in your presence and peace this night. Place your protective hand upon me and shield me from the attacks of the Enemy. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew within me a right spirit that you may be what people see when they encounter me each and every day. In the blessed name of Christ Jesus I pray. Amen.

⁷ Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. ⁸ Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. ⁹ Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. ¹⁰ Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.
