O Savior, when morning gilds the skies, our hearts, awakening, cry: “May Jesus Christ be praised!” Let us profess our hope in you boldly today, yet always with gentleness and reverence. Help us to remember, with thanksgiving, our only comfort in body and soul, in life and in death, is that we belong not to ourselves but to our faithful Savior, Jesus Christ.
As you have interceded for us, so now we bring to you all who need you, especially those who this day will suffer for your sake. Put to shame any of those who will seek to abuse any of your own this day. Defend all those, who in the strength of their conscience, will claim you as their only Savior amid cultures that persecute them and threaten their lives for that very reason. In the matchless name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
