O Heavenly Father, I know that death is a certainty just as breath is the very essence of life. As I come into this Advent season, I am reminded of this certainty. Thus, in the midst of this season, I ask myself, am I Advent ready? Am I truly ready for the return of your Son, who will come one day to judge the living and the dead?
As I go through this day, help me to see how I can live as Christ in the world in order that others may see the true light that is Jesus. There is much to do. Lead me in wisdom that reflects yours: pure, peaceable, and full of mercy. In the blessed name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
Covenant-keeper, all of your promises are for whoever will believe them. For those who cannot, I pray for them this night. For those who are cold, I ask that you would give them warmth, for those who are hungry, may they receive food, for those who are lonely, may the receive comfort in you. Forgiving God, I have done what I could do today. At times, it was not so good. Forgive and restore my soul in the night. IN the name of Jesus. Amen.
