Morning Prayer: May 17th

Holy One, I begin this day surrounded and upheld by your Holy Spirit.

God, your greatness is beyond comprehension, yet you care lovingly for the smallest things. Help me to remember  that all that I have done or will do is under your watchfulness. As you name and number all the host of heaven, call me by my name and number me with your people.

May that which is unworthy in me wither and fade; may those purposes for which you made me flourish to your glory. I now lift up my eyes on high as I pray for the world around me. Today, O God, may I live in wonder at your presence, high above  me and deep within the foundation of my being. In your name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, I pray. Amen.
