Morning Prayer: May 22nd

Dear God, like the athlete rested from the night’s sleep, let us run the race before us strong and joyful, eager to engage the new day.

With eyes wide open and tongues stilled, let us behold your wonderful creation and be humbled. Equally wonderful is your law. Like the sun, it fills our lives with light and makes life possible. Its righteousness reveals our motives, and so we are afraid, just as creatures of the night flee the sun’s rising. Let its fire refine and purify us that we might be shaped and tempered, strong and useful for your purposes on this earth. Help me today to be more fully aware of the many ways I can listen, speak, and share the message of good news with those I meet. In the matchless name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
